….mainly because, well, back in December of 2006, I finally got sick and tired of my unhappiness regarding my weight and energy. I had packed 170+ pounds onto a 5/3.5″ frame…and the prognosis looked only grimmer and grimmer. Heck, the only exercise at which I was sterling was averting my eyes so I wouldn’t see my reflection in the mirror!I was at a cross-roads in my life…and I had to consciously choose what I would do next. Would I take the easy way out and grow fatter and fatter while watching my family tag along and suffer as well?

Or would I choose to say, I can DO this….and research my way back to health and fitness?

As it turns out, I proactively decreed that I would seize my success and nothing would stop me.

Wow, what a journey it’s been (you can check out my beginning blog on it over at Weight-Loss Diaries)!! I’m still on it, of course - I’m currently maintaining a nifty neat weight between 127 and 130 pounds. But now, 50+ pounds lighter with a better figure than I ever had in my 20s, I can honestly say it’s been an exciting and liberating journey indeed.

Couple of things to note - I always try to include my family in my postings as well!  Thus, you’ll hear about my Mooses and my Twitter Budgies like so.

Here are my two mooses.  Notice their sizes.

Moose 1 (the actual moose-sized doggie) is a Malamoose/Collie cross and has jaws the size of a bear trap (gentle Jaws, mind you), and Moose 2 (known as "MiniMoose") is a husky cross.  Both of them are rescue doggies (rescue doggies rock!  You can learn more about them HERE).

Notice how neat and clean their paws are?  Well now, check out what mooses look like after a delightful romp in the great outdoors!

Career-wise, I’m an online trainer (note! not a personal trainer - I can speak only of what worked for me. As you can tell, my mode of operation is to always write write write when I’ve learned how to master specific interests in a broad field.

My success at finally “turning the key” regarding weightloss, diet and lifestyle changes has prompted me to create this site…and share what I’ve learned as well.  My own personal preferences regarding fitness and health center around:

  • Eating smart (I hate being hungry)
  • Karate (Making up for lost time)
  • Walking (2.4 mile walk complete with 2 mooses!)
  • Infomercials (I love teaching my kids how the vast majority of infomercials are scams, plain and simple (not Taebo, Beachbody and the like, mind you, but those 7 Second Thingees or 3 Minute Masters or Colon Cleansers or ….)
  • Strength Training (can’t beat weight lifting for feeling good!)

Everyone must find out what works for THEM and them only.  It’s a great journey.
